To preserve a certain moment in time, to deconstruct the reality of it into brushstrokes and marks is at the core of my practice.
— Juliane Kellersmann

Juliane Kellersmann (b. 1991) is a German abstract painter based between London and Northern Germany. With a background in design, her paintings draw from experiences and impressions in her own life through an abstract lens. Juliane’s intuitive works often emerge out of the process itself, by layering paint she creates movement and emotion. For Juliane, painting is an escape from reason and fact. It's about creating something that evokes emotions and captivates the viewer to stay. Through many layers of color, reality becomes more distorted and slowly no longer resembles fact, but a moment of standstill while personal emotions are touched upon. Juliane’s paintings are strongly inspired by her surroundings. She sees life as a constantly evolving whole, where every moment is unique. Capturing a specific moment, a memory in time, deconstructing reality into brushstrokes and marks is the core of her art.
